Languages and master lookups
Configure languages
- Open Languages with an administrator account.
- Select Add language, filter the available languages, and choose one.
- Use Make default on the intended default language.
- Open Content Manager and verify the language is available.
At least one language must remain configured. The default language does not automatically translate or republish content. Before removing a language, check live translations and schedules and arrange any withdrawals. See translations.
Create reusable lookup values
Administrators use Master Lookup for values shared by option-set fields, such as article categories.
- Select Add lookup type.
- Enter a name, description, and optional Parent lookup, then Save lookup type.
- Add entries with a Code and Label. Select a Parent entry for a hierarchical lookup when applicable.
- Select Save entry.
- Configure an option-set field in Content Designer to use the lookup.
Codes support up to 64 letters, digits, underscores, or hyphens and start with a letter or digit. Labels and lookup names apply across languages. Editing a label preserves the stable entry ID.
Maintain a lookup
Use the available enable/disable actions to control selections. Review existing content before disabling or deleting values. Delete a lookup only after its entries and references have been handled.
To reorder values, clear search and sorting first, adjust their order, then save. If prompted when leaving, choose Save and continue, Discard changes, or Keep editing deliberately. Parent-dependent fields should use compatible parent lookup configuration.
