Entries and fields
Open a type in Content Manager. Collections contain lists of entries; a single type represents one content item.
Find an entry
- Select the intended language.
- Use available title search and filters for working status, Created by, and publication state.
- Open the entry to edit it.
Search requires a configured Title field in Content Designer. Live content can have a newer draft: working status and publication state describe different things. Search and status filters use the selected language's working revision.
Changing filters resets pagination and selection. Clear filters and check language and Trash mode when expected content is missing.
Fill in fields
| Field group | Use |
|---|---|
| Short text, long text, slug | Enter text suited to the field; slugs typically identify URL paths |
| Rich text, HTML | Use the editor; HTML is sanitized, so unsupported markup can be removed |
| Integer, decimal | Enter numbers within configured constraints |
| Date, time, date and time | Use the controls and check the displayed value |
| Boolean, choice | Choose a switch value or a configured choice |
| URL, phone, email | Enter a value in the expected format |
| Image, video, file, multiple media | Select suitable Media Library files |
| Relation | Select content from the configured target type |
| Option set | Select reusable Master Lookup values |
Required fields, selection limits, and references depend on content design. Drafts can be incomplete; publication still checks completeness and references.
Save and recover edits
With autosave enabled, editors save two seconds after the last meaningful edit. Opening an entry alone does not save. Save draft waits for queued edits; collection dialogs close when saving completes, while single-content editors remain open.
Watch the save indicator before leaving. If saving fails, keep the editor open, restore connectivity, and retry. Unsaved edits remain in memory; there is no offline draft storage. Copy important unsaved work before reloading. If another editor changes content, refresh and reconcile your work rather than repeatedly submitting stale actions.
Delete and restore
Use Delete to move an entry to the content type's Trash view. Open that view and use Restore to recover it. Purge permanently removes content; review the confirmation and ensure a suitable backup exists before destructive cleanup.
Content Trash, media Trash, revision history, and full deployment backups serve different purposes.
