Revision history

History lets you inspect earlier content and restore it. It does not replace deployment backups.

Inspect a revision

  1. Open an entry's actions in Content Manager and select History.
  2. Inspect the language, status, author, and saved content.
  3. Identify which revision is live before choosing an action.

Working and published revisions can differ. Check the language when comparing content.

Restore a draft

Use the history restore action on the desired revision. It creates a new working draft from historical content and preserves intervening history. Review the draft and follow the publication policy. Strict types require fresh approval; earlier approvals do not transfer.

Restore and publish

The available restore-and-publish action replaces live content for that language. In strict workflow, Emergency restore and publish is administrator-only and requires a reason.

Read the confirmation and check for newer work. After a conflict, reload history and workflow state before acting again.

For missing database records, lost media originals, or deployment failure, use restore and recovery.
